DESCRIPTION :

Fenofi-R is a lipid-lowering combination tablet containing rosuvastatin and fenofibrate. It is used to manage abnormal blood lipid levels, particularly when elevated cholestrol and triglycerides require treatment.

Rosuvastatin primarily lowers LDL (”BAD”) cholestrol , while fenofibrate is particularly effective at reducing triglycerides and can help increase HDL (“good”) cholestrol.

INDICATIONS :

Fenofi-R may be prescribed for :

Mixed dyslipidemia

High LDL cholestrol

High triglycerides (hypertriglyceridemia)

Elevated cholestrol and triglycerides when combination therapy is appropriate

Reduction of lipid-related cardiovascular risk as part of an overall treatment plan

HOW IT WORKS :

Rosuvastatin :

Inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholestrol synthesis and increases removal of LDL cholestrol from the blood.

Fenofibrate :

Activates PPAR-a, which increases the breakdown of triglyceride and can increase HDL cholestrol.

Together, the two medicines provide complementory control of cholestrol and triglycerides.

IMPORTANT NOTICE :

Use only on a doctor’s prescription.

This combination can increase the risk of muscle pain , muscle weakness or, rarely , serious muscle injury. Report unexplained severe muscle symptoms promptly.

Liver enzymes and lipid levels may need monitoring during treatment.

Kidney function may need monitoring , particularly in patients with kidney problems.

Tell your doctor about all other medicines you take because rosuvastatin+ fenofibrate can have clinically important interactions.

Continue appropriate diet , exercise and lifestyle measures as advised by your doctor.

Do not change the dose or stop the medicine without medical advice.
