DESCRIPTION :

GAMCEF-O is a combination antibiotic containing Cefixime and Ofloxacin. It is used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections. Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, while Ofloxacin is a fluroquinolone antibiotic. The combination acts against bacteria through two different mechanisms.

INDICATIONS :

It may be used for susceptible bacterial infections such as :

Respiratory tract infections

Ear, nose and throat infections

Urinary tract infections

Gastrointestinal infections

Certain skin and soft-tissue infections

Other bacterial infections as prescribed by a physician

HOW IT WORKS :

Cefixime : Prevents formation of the bacterial cell wall, leading to bacterial death.

Ofloxacin : Inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase / topoisomerase enzymes, preventing bacterial DNA replication and multiplication.

Together , they provide antibacterial activity through different mechanisms.
