DESCRIPTION:

Azigam – 250 is a macrolide antibiotic containing azithromycin.it is used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections involving the respiratory tract , ear , throat , skin and soft tissues, and certain other bacterial infections.

INDICATIONS:

Respiratory tract infections

Community – acquired pneumonia

Tonsillitis /pharyngitis

Sinus and ear infections

Skin and soft- tissue bacterial infections

Certain sexually transmitted bacterial infections , as prescribed by a doctor

HOW IT WORKS :

Azithromycin binds to the 50s subunit of bacterial ribosomes and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. This prevents susceptible bacteial protein synthesis. this prevents susceptible bacteria from growing and multiplying , helping control the infection.
