DESCRIPTION :

Azigamp- 500 is an azithromycin 500 mg antibiotic tablets belonging to the macrolide group. It is used for the treatment of certain infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

INDICATIONS:

It may be prescribed for bacterial infections such as :

Respiratory tract infections

Throat /tonsil infections

Sinus infections

Ear infections

Certain skin and soft-tissue infections

Certain sexually transmitted bacterial infections

HOW IT WORKS:

Azithromycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.It binds to the 50s subunit of bacterial ribosomes , preventing bacteria from making essential proteins needed for growth and multiplication.
