DESCRIPTION :

Gamflox-OZ is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial combination containing Ofloxacin and ornidazole. It is intended for infections involving susceptible bacteria and anaerobic/protozol organisms, particularly where a mixed infection is suspected.

INDICATIONS :

It may be used for :

Diarrhoea and dysentery of mixed origin

Gastrointestinal infections

Respiratory infections

Gynaecological infections

Dental/oral and ENT infections

Surgical wound infections

Certain infections involving anaerobic bacteria and protozoa

HOW IT WORKS :

Ofloxacin : inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV , preventing bacterial DNA replication and repair , ultimately killing susceptible bacteria.

Ornidazole : damages the DNA of susceptible anaerobis bacteria and protozoa , interfering with their growth and survival

Together , they provide activity against a combination of bacterial and protozoal pathogens .

IMPORTANT NOTICE :

This is a prescription antibiotic and should be used only on a doctor’s advice.

Complete the prescribed course; don’t stop early simply because symptoms improve.

Avoid alcohol during treatment because it can worsen dizziness/drowsiness and other adverse effects .

Common adverses effects may include nausea , vomiting , diarrhoea , stomach discomfort , headache and dizziness.

Inform the doctor about pregnancy/breastfeeding , kidney or liver problems , allergies , or other medicines being taken.

Seek medical attention for serious allergic reactions or unusual symptoms such as severe/persistent tendon pain , numbness/tingling , or significant neurological symptoms.
