OXYMETHOLONE 50 MG 

DESCRIPTION :

Oxymetholone is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid derived from testosterone. It promotes red blood cell production and has been used medically in certain types of anaemia caused by inadequate red blood cell formation in the bone marrow.

INDICATIONS :

Treatment of selected cases of aplastic anaemia.

Used in certain conditions involving reduced red blood cell production.

Has been used in congenital aplastic anaemia and myelofibrosis.

May be prescribed in selected cases of bone marrow-related anaemia.

HOW IT WORKS :

Stimulates erythropoietin activity.

Promotes red blood cell production in the bone marrow.

Supports haemoglobin formation.

Has anabolic effects that promote protein synthesis and nitrogen retention.

IMPORTANT NOTICE :

May cause severe liver toxicity and liver damage.

Long-term use has been associated with liver tumours.

May cause fluid retention and swelling.

Can negatively affect cholesterol levels.

May cause acne, hair loss and hormonal disturbances.

Not recommended during pregnancy.

Requires regular liver-function tests and medical monitoring.

Should only be used under specialist supervision.
