Omeprazole IP 20 mg per capsule.

DESCRIPTION:

Omegam – 20 is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) containing omeprazole 20 mg. It reduces excess stomach acid and helps relieve acid – related digestive symptoms.

INDICATIONS:

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD/ acid reflux)

Heartburn and acid – related indigestion

Peptic/gastric ulcers

Erosive esophagitis

Zollinger – Ellison syndrome

May be used as part of H.pylori eradication therapy with appropriate antibiotics.

HOW IT WORKS :

Omeprazole blocks the H+/K+ – ATPase proton pump in the stomach’s acid- producing cells. This decreases gastric acid secretion , helping relieve acidity and allowing acid – damaged tissues to heal.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Use only as directed by a doctor , as this is a prescription medicine.

Usually taken before a meal; swallow the capsule whole – do not crush or chew it .

Inform your doctor about other medicines you take , pregnancy/breastfeeding , or liver problems .

Possible side effects include headache , abdominal discomfort , nausea , diarrhoea/ constipation and flatulence .
