DESCRIPTION :

Cefogam SB-1.5 is a prescription injectable antibiotic combining cefoperazone and sulbactam. It is used to treat certain bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms.

INDICATIONS :

It may be prescribed for susceptible bacterial infections, including :

Respiratory tract infections.

Urinary tract infections.

Intra-abdominal infections, including peritonitis.

Skin and soft tissue infections.

Bone and joint infections.

Septicaemia and certain other serious infections.

HOW IT WORKS :

Cefoperazone : An antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death.

Sulbactum : Blocks certain beta-lactamase enzymes produced by bacteria, helping protect cefoperazone from breakdown.

Together, they help fight susceptible bacteria that cause infections.

Avoid alcohol during treatment and for the period advised by the doctor, as cefoperazone may cause an adverse reaction with alcohol.
